Traveling Vines!

New Guinea Trumpet Vine
I took this photo at the Naples Botanical Gardens. I have never seen this species before, being familiar only with the more common vines. It grew ravenously around a column, along side an entrance door. As you can see it made quite a statement in it's full glory of bloomdom.
I cropped the photo and added several textures, rendering it old and vintage like. I just love those old linen, vintage fabrics.
Since vines love to travel, now is as good a time as ever to discuss our trip. I am beginning to wonder about our choices and certain destinations that we have chosen. Our first destination was a Mediterranean Cruise, that went to Egypt, visited the pyramids, a dream of mine, and we all know what happened there. Luckily we were refunded our money.
So let's stay in the United States and see more of our country. This is no time to travel abroad we thought. Sounds reasonable???
Our dear friends, John and Judy drove up to Illinois to see their new grand-baby and we are flying into St. Louis, meeting them and driving back down the middle of the country stopping in, Branson, Little Rock, Memphis, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, The Panhandle, Cedar key and wherever the wind blows us. OK so, we all know what happened in St. Louis, don't we?
Wow do you think the travel angels are trying to tell us something?
Our decision is to go and enjoy and we are looking forward to our trip. Yikes!
I will be posting everyday, and can't wait to see what my instrument of capture will capture?
 "On the road again
Just can't wait to get on the road again
The life I love is making music with my friends
And I can't wait to get on the road again
On the road again
Goin' places that I've never been
Seein' things that I may never see again
And I can't wait to get on the road again
On the road again
Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We're the best of friends
Insisting that the world keep turning our way and our way."~Willie Nelson~
Willie Nelson, now talk about vintage!

Goodness! Really good thing you are not traveling internationally now, what with possible retaliation by the terrorists over bin Laden's death. So much turmoil all over the world!

You're going to Baton Rouge! Yay! My hometown. I can recommend The Chimes restaurant and Cafe Americain. Two very good places to eat seafood. Hope you have a wonderful tree, free of any problems. Enjoy.

Hope you're having fun! There's a great restaurant in Branson I highly recommend (from 3 years ago) - Lamberts. Just take your appetite and leave your fancy clothes at home.
Too bad about the cruise.
