The Measure of a Man!

The Measure of a Man 154/365
"As a man, I've been representative of the values I hold dear. And the values I hold dear are carryovers from the lives of my parents."~Sidney Poitier~
Where do I even begin to explain this handsome man. It is his birthday today and I wish him many, many more! After reading Sidney Poitier's book, The Measure of a Man, I couldn't help thinking how lucky I was, I have such a man. Sidney, goes on to say that no matter his humble beginnings his family values and the work ethic of his parents instilled in him, his passion for life. He would live his life in respect of his father and never do anything to dishonor him. There was nobility in any job as long as it meant that his family was cared for.
Wow! I recommend this book for any new father!
A retired railroad engineer, Will put in many long hours to support his family. He came in last many times and never once complained. His retirement date was 7/7/07 and I must say he has never looked back and I don't know anyone who enjoys retirement more than he. Fishing and golf are on his agenda now, most days. He loves people and is always kind, respectful and helpful. Recently he was elected as president of the men's club here in Lake Fairway's and I know he will do a great job.
He has discovered he can sing and also loves karaoke on Friday nights. Now dancing, that's a different story, rhythm seems to be lacking in his DNA. He does the chicken dance to everything and seems oblivious to the beat. He is hysterical on the dance floor and I am proud to be by his side.
Most of all he has the deep respect of his children and they are proud to call him their dad. As for me, he is the wind beneath my wings!!!
Happy Birthday, Will!
