Almost Forgotten!

Twilight, Neptune Beach, Florida
"Boredom is the feeling that everything is a waste of time; serenity, that nothing is."
~Thomas Szasz~

Amazing what you can find when your not looking! I was downloading photos from my point and shoot camera, when I came across some captures that I had taken on our journey home to Florida.

Totally forgotten and a pleasant surprise, my senses were rekindled into instant recollection of the event.
We had enjoyed a great dinner, a glass of merlot, then decided to visit the beach before retiring for the evening!

It was about 7:30 PM, the ocean commanded one's attention, the atmosphere assaulted by a heavy and looming  humidity.
The wind was wild and spirited, only several brave souls graced the seascape. Waves somewhat disjointed pounded the shore in a thunderous and deafening manner. There was no time for thought, only to experience the attack on the senses that Mother Nature with all her glory and strength had to offer.

I snapped a half dozen photos, we decided regretfully not to walk the beach and enjoy the fury from our  balcony!  As serene as this photo may seem the physical experience quite different and exhilarating!
Never a boring moment as long as my camera is in hand and a supportive husband by my side!
Have a wonderful day!

Just awesome!! That is what I love about photography...it doesn't matter how many photos I take...I can remember the moment I took it...down to the smallest detail every time I look at it. Perfect beach shot.

Lovely Beach photo!!
I love standing in front of the ocean in the winter when there isn't another soul in sight. that's when you feel like a grain of sand on GOD's earth!!

Love all the variations of pinks and purples! I also like the contrast between the texture of the grass and the sand.

Beautiful....I really love the beaches in Florida. I live two miles from the beach here in Southern California, but Florida beaches are so different.

From your description of this photo, I too would totally enjoy a spectacular view even just from the balcony! I am amazed (as always) with your choices of words. They are very florid and alive. Have a great week ahead :)

That is a beautiful and peaceful scene. But as you say things are not always as they seem. A windy beach can be a challenge.

Your description of this magnificent scene puts me right there. Thank you, I needed that!

Rosemary, this is awesome! But how your photo did fool me into thinking this was a peaceful place. The pink tones make it appear that way, I think. Just gorgeous! Have a great week!

This is one of the most beautiful images I've seen this year. I love how the color in the sky is repeated in the sand of the beach. A fantastic atmosphere. I'm glad you ventured out there despite the humidity and wind.
BTW, your writing is very beautiful as well.

Thank you SO much for sharing on Weekly Top Shot #51… I’m sorry that I am very late coming by to visit your entry. But I have been fighting being sick all week, trying to fend off a virus and haven’t been doing much besides working and sleeping.. I do hope you’ll forgive me and come by tomorrow to share on Weekly Top Shot’s 1st Anniversary!

I love the quote Rosemary! The image does look very serene and tranquil. Stilled in a photograph, the waves look quite tame. I am about to announce a writing contest tomorrow. You should enter. You're a great writer!
