A Great Visit!

Our son Chris...our friend Marvin and his grandson in the background...
Fresh Water Large Mouth Bass...Aubut Spinning Rod, Shimano Reel...
Large Mouth Bass caught at Lake Fairways...
Large Mouth Bass...he was caught and released...
Large Mouth Bass...
Large Mouth Bass...Aubut Rod...caught with a top water plug...
The sun was setting and the wind picked up...
it was time to go home....
Our son Chris is visiting us here in Florida and we are thrilled to have him! His wife Allicyn is away on business and could not join him! Chris is a long time professional angler and used to guide in Key West, Florida and Westport, MA. He and Allicyn now reside in Falmouth, MA.
Chris recently started a custom rod building business along with Allicyn, his chief financial advisor and business consultant. Together they are quite the team. His years of experience on the water and knowledge of the habits of many species of fish has led him to design a great product!
You can visit his website @: http://aubutrods.com. He also blogs about his experiences and we laughed about blogging together later this week! Who would have thought it???
He will be visiting Key West in a few days to fish with his friend Aaron Snell to film and photograph for his website, parts of which are still under construction!
Recently he fished with with Michael Hogan, owner of Hogy Lures who wrote a great blog about fishing with Chris, using a light tackle travel rod designed by Chris. You can read about it here @: http://hogylures.com.
You can also visit him on his Facebook page @:

Just a little "plug" for a "reel" great couple who "reelly" know their stuff!!!

As I was scrolling through the pics I was thinking, "Isn't her last name Abut?" Thank you for explaining! How wonderful. What a talented son you have there, and quite the entrepreneur! Enjoyed the shots of the fish, and although I love to eat fish, was glad to see they were thrown back. :) Have a great week! I will be sure to check our your son's links. Louisiana has a lot of fishermen, ya know!

It looks like everyone had a "reely" good time!. I would have had a hard time throwing that fish back in the lake - pretty sure it would have found its way into a frying pan...

We visited Key West.

It was one ride I tell you first go trip.

I thought that bridge would never end. Miles, miles.

Those ugly birds in the trees and the crockodiles at some spots.
of water passing by.
I was so happy to see the Hotel.

Wow Congrat's for your son's business. I will have a look later today at his site.

I was a lover of fishing in my hand at age 6. My oldest brother was my side kick or I was to him really. We catch those Large Mouht bass here in one river.

They are beauties those fins are very sharp. Being a female. I always had the cloth attached to my old pants to grib them. I dont like to clean them. Those scales are pretty yukie flying everywhere. They can pull the line down like you have the biggest fish the bass. Also we have huge Muskies. Not sure if they are not to be eated. They are ground fish I think. He will know what I am talking about. In Canada Fishermans Trophy. Who catches them have a Taxidermy mount them. For show and tell in homes.

I am glad he visited you son Chris. How nice.

You must be so proud of him.

congrats on a good team by the sounds of it; lovely photographs and the first thing I picked up on was the name on the reel and I then whizzed up the sidebar to check your surname as I was sure it was the same. Then of course the remainder of the post explains. Sounds like a very interesting business venture when there is your hobby and work rolled up into one ...nice post Rosemary
