Silence "The sky broke like an egg into full sunset and the water caught fire."~Pamela Hansford Johnson~ The silence was so loud one could hear the grass grow! Last evening our golf cart expedition set out a bit late around 7:15PM. We only had a short period of time to capture the quiet. It was as though the earth took a deep breath and held it the entire time we were about. No breeze to be had, yet warm and comfortable. Many homes scattered about the golf course, not a sound to be heard. The insects held off on their evening melody, croaking frogs lay silent, chirping birds home in their nests! A feather falling may have been detected! Mother Nature was taking a nap! Eerie but very beautiful we forged ahead. Hubby at the helm! No wildlife to capture and a bit disappointed, when suddenly the sun saved the day and bid us a fond farewell in very grand style. It is wonderful how it happens day after day, repetitious yet unique each and every time if we only take a moment to notice. Have a wonderful day! Grand...and glorious!!
Fantastic image. I peeked through your blog a bit...we're not far from each other. I caught some great skies this past week-this one reminds me of a week ago Monday. I'm wondering if it was the same day.
Great subject for red, and beautiful silhouettes and reflections.
oh wow ... what an amazing shot :D
This is gorgeous! It just takes my breath away. I love sunsets in the fall.
Wow. Excellent shot. Love those colors reflected in the water.
Sounds like a relaxing evening -- we had a bit of pink in the sky last night, but nothing like this red blaze of yours! :) Love photo, Rosemary.
simply BEAUTIFUL red!!!! :)

Beautifully composed photo. I love the reflection. Well done!

Wow! what a glorious shot and you used just the right amount of texture.
Absolutely stunning shot. This should be featured in one of those "Golf" magazines....wow. I love how you were able to capture the reflection off the water...beautiful and what a great capture of a wonderful memory, when "Mother Nature" stood still.
Bright blessings,
Kathy
