Perfect Penmanship!

Scene 1
Scene 2
"The trees are God's great alphabet: With them He writes in shining green
Across the world His thoughts serene."
~Leonora Speyer~

I have driven down this familiar road in town many times always quite taken by the west branch of the river which runs along side it. A very scenic view dotted with water craft of all shapes and sizes. How is it then I totally missed this gorgeous tree of which I finally took notice? Not  particularly beautiful by gorgeous tree standards, but a tree of character, shaped by it's sometimes harsh environment, withstanding the test of time.
Thank goodness for my instrument of capture allowing me to capture God's serenity, taking notice of His perfect penmanship!
Loved both photos, could not make up my mind??? Enjoy!

Look At The Rainbow!

Look At The Rainbow
"My heart leaps up when I behold a rainbow in the sky."~William Wordsworth~
I do not think I've ever seen a rainbow that did not capture my full attention, or be with someone who did not hesitate for a moment, upon first view, to point one out!
They are seldom seen, with each performance being as grand as the first.
Rainbows speak to us in a way that no other natural phenomena can.
Just think of all the emotions, feelings and associations that are conjured up by the simple word rainbow!
Take notice of any rainbow, hold it dear to your heart, let it symbolize for you all that is hopeful, for they are fleeting gifts of beauty painted forever on the canvas of the minds eye!

Van Gogh or a Cezanne?

A Little Van Gogh Anyone?
"I experience a period of frightening clarity in those moments when nature is so beautiful.
I am no longer sure of myself, and the paintings appear as in a dream."~Vincent Van Gogh~
This photo was captured yesterday in Bristol Rhode at Colt State Park. The original photo was very pretty, however, it has been my goal to turn every photo I publish into a work of art, whenever I possibly can.
Can you only imagine my delight when I found this new App called, Auto Painter Express. Several clicks and one can turn any photo into a Van Gogh or a Cezanne, in just a few minutes. YIKES!
I feel as though I am cheating on Photoshop, but am allowing myself the freedom to try something fun and new, almost way too easy!
Vincent, I have admired your work from afar for so many years and now the ability to turn a photograph, that I have taken into your style is a feat beyond my wildest dreams.
Can't wait to see what Mr. Van Gogh and I come up with next or maybe a Cezanne.
Love his work too!
Have an enjoyable and creative day!

Farewell Dear Friends!

On The Road Again
"Everyday a Saturday and every meal a feast."~Will Aubut~
My husband coined the phrase above when he retired almost four years ago on 7/7/07. Retirement for us has been constant motion and sometimes I wonder how we fit working in at all.
Today I must wear my rose colored glasses, however. My heart heavy, as we say goodbye to all our friends here at, Lake Fairways. We have had a wonderful year meeting new people and expanding our second family! Many, many laughs and a few bumps, but all in all, I have to say this retirement stuff is the way to go.
My heart, also filled with joy as we make our yearly journey north today. We are not exactly snow birds as we spend nine months a year here in Florida and three in Massachusetts, a bit longer than the average bird. It's called I miss the kids time, honey! Our beautiful grandchildren are fifteen, twelve and nine. Ages when summertime supervision is greatly needed and required. Grandma and PaPa to the rescue, with pleasure. I have my roller skates on and we are up for the challenge, with love.
If we did not see you before we left, we say goodbye and will see you in September. Well I have to run now, PaPa has finished loading the car and is ready to roll. On the road again! See you soon my sweet babies. Have a wonderful day!

Serenity!

On the Brink of Winter click photo for larger view
This photo was taken in Massachusetts in the early part of fall. October is a month that fills us with anticipation of what is yet to come! The harvest, holidays and hopefully a mild winter with a little snow just to make our Christmas white! This day was overcast, the air heavy with that muggy New England feel and the silence was deafening! Mother Nature teasing us with her last hurrah of warmth and serenity!
I added a texture layer to this photo, courtesy of Jerry Jones.
