Take your pick every word listed above is a good one to own! The photo not so good as I took it with my cell phone. Leaving a coffee shop with my two friends yesterday we came upon this very large grasshopper. He was sitting right on the hood of Mary's car. Rather comfortable, there was no moving him!  Mary, extremely protective of all of God's creatures gently moved him with an envelope from a greeting card she had just purchased. Startled he jumped high into the air onto a branch of a waiting Russian Sage. 
It was funny how we all saw him at the same time. 
 Luck, stable, virtue, vibrant, content, intuitive, fertility, patient, peaceful, creativity, abundance, insightful, messenger, connected, courageous, resourceful, forward thinking. 
Just a few words to symbolize my friendship with these two wonderful ladies. Yes, Mr.Grasshopper you are very wise! It's funny how this all happens sometimes! 
Just a little message sent by the Universe! I will miss my northern friends! 
Hope they come to visit as promised!

I took this photo at a garden center recently. I couldn't help thinking that I don't remember ever seeing a hornet a top of a flower before. They are usually hiding behind a shutter or some small crevice just waiting to scare the peejeebies out of you! I sat on one once and let me tell you that, it was a site to behold! OUCH!!!!! But as scary as theses little creature are, they have to eat too! There must be some higher purpose in nature for them, I thought. 
I googled, what do hornets eat? 
"Adult food consists of nectar or other sugary solutions such as honeydew and the juices of ripe fruits. Hornets hunt other insects, caterpillars, spiders, and even other bees and wasps to supply protein to larvae. They also chew plant material, like tree bark, to build their nests."

Wow, I'm starting to see a food chain emerging here! The only natural enemy I could find is that of  man and all of his chemicals to rid them from our presence. Well I guess as long as they keep eating other insects, especially mosquitoes, and stay away from any place that I sit, I can respect their place in nature and yes they will always scare the peejeebies out of me! ! Wow, look at this little guy! He is doing what bees do best! Just spreading the pollen, for new life. If you look closely you will see a yellow clump of pollen stuck to his little foot. Yes, I am pretty sure that's what it is. For me an interesting capture. I never thought much about how they spread their pollen, I just knew that they did! Stinging, if one interferes with their busy work, so we must let the busy bee, be. To go about the important business of just being a bee. To do the divine work of Mother Nature, in a peaceful and uninterrupted sort of way! Contributing to the sweet nectar of life itself.
Yes, I think I will spread some positive pollen today, a very safe place to be. We all know that it is easier to step in dog poop, but be careful wise one, you could get stung along the way!

Depth of Character!

Maturity and a Depth of Character

The dragonfly, in almost every part of the world symbolizes change and change in the perspective of self realization; and the kind of change that has its source in mental and emotional maturity and the understanding of the deeper meaning of life.
 The traditional association of Dragonflies with water also gives rise to this meaning to this amazing insect. The Dragonfly’s scurrying flight across water represents an act of going beyond what’s on the surface and looking into the deeper implications and aspects of life. Amongst Native Americans, it is a sign of happiness, speed and purity. I was amazed to find so much symbolism associated with the dragonfly online. My grand-mother used to tell me that if one landed on you, it meant good luck. I really never gave them another thought! Insects in general gross me out. I know they all serve some sort of purpose in the universe, but it doesn't mean I have to like them.

If I had to pick a favorite, however, it would definitely be the Dragonfly. They don't bite and eat twice their weight in mosquitoes every day. Mosquitoes for dessert, now there's a delectable thought!
Photography has taught me to see and respect all creatures no matter their hierarchy in the food chain.
Below is a picture of my kind and gentle husband who adores nature, hosting a Dragonfly on a warm and sunny day. He posed for a brief moment and then hovered away into the abyss of nature.
According to many legends and cultures we could all use a few Dragonfly Kisses, along with some Dragonfly Wisdom! Maybe even a, Dragonfly Magic Potion, that we could sprinkle
on ourselves in times of doubt. Now wouldn't that be neat, timely and cost affective!
