Cosmos Better than a thousand hollow words, is one word that brings peace. ~Buddha~ The Cosmos, an annual flower is symbolic for peaceful. The dictionary defines it as: Cosmos(1) noun: the universe seen as a well-ordered whole. Cosmos(2) noun: an ornamental plant of the daisy family with single dahlialike flowers. Native to tropical America, it is widely grown as an ornamental. I can truly understand why this flower is symbolic for peace. It stands tall in the garden backdrop, wispy, yet strong. A fragment of subtle color, it commands no glory but seeks only to add to the harmony of all who grow along side. It bows it's heavy head to the blistering sunshine, yet stands again, at attention, only to drink it in the following day. Their seeds of kindness flood the garden and warn others more ravenous to keep the balance and coexist in the amity of peace. Plant the seeds of the cosmos my friends, plant the seeds. A peaceful man does more good than a learned one. ~Pope John XXIII~ Texture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/old_dog_photo/2970759904/in/photostream/ |
